Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Leaked [UPDATE]

UPDATE: Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been officially announced. Its been confirmed for an August 22nd release date and we can expect to see gameplay on March 8th.

It appears Target accidentally leaked the upcoming sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The follow-up, entitled Middle-earth: Shadow of War, will let players reprise the role of Talion and his wraith possessor Celebrimbor, as they seek revenge against the Dark Lord Sauron.

In Shadow of Mordor, Talion battled his way through numerous Orcish hordes of Mordor to avenge his slain family by the hands of Sauron’s captains. Talion relied on sword and stealth combat with Celebrimbor’s magical abilities to wreak havoc across the plains and ruins of Mordor.

Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-Earth.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, nothing will be forgotten.

Although Target pulled down the game’s official description, it does note that the renowned Nemesis will return. Specific captains who defeated you will return stronger and more resilient than ever, making each play-through unique.

The Target page suggests that Shadow of War will release on August 22 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, given to the accidental nature of the game’s listing, it could be an estimate release date at best.
