Looks like the Nintendo Switch won’t just be missing out on media like Netflix at launch, the gaming console will be missing an Internet browser. According to an interview of Nintendo’s President Tatsumi Kimishima (conducted by TIME), the console is less focused on extra features like media and internet at launch.
When asked about if Miiverse, Mii Maker and Wii U Chat will make an appearance on Nintendo Switch, Kimishima replied;
In terms of the Internet browser, since all of our efforts have gone toward making the Switch an amazing dedicated video game platform, it will not support it, at least at launch.
This does not mean that the Nintendo Switch will never get these features they just won’t be there at launch. The Switch has been getting a lot of flack since the Tokyo Livestream and them moving the online features to smartphones as well discussing other important features like Virtual Console, eShop and more. The Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3rd of 2017.
