Here is some Hard Knock news for you! PlayStation will now be stamping console exclusive titles with an “console exclusives” stamp. The first game to receive the stamp is the anticipated fighter from Capcom Street Fighter V. As the marketing campaign begins, big retailers have begun promoting exclusive bundles for the soon-to-be-released sequel. Some might argue that because SFV will hit PC day and date with the PS4 version it should not be considered an exclusive to the PlayStation platform. It is credited as “console exclusive” due to the fact that it won’t appear on rival consoles Xbox One and Wii U.
It’s by no means the first time that companies have branded box art to indicate some form of exclusivity over their top competitors, and Sony looks to be gearing up for a major push for Street Fighter V, which is less than a month away.
Street Fighter V will launch across PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16. Check out the stamped box art in question below. Thoughts? And do you think we’ll see more “Console Exclusive” stamping further down the line?
